NewsreadingShannon Power is a journalist with extensive broadcast experience in both radio and television.  Her passions are world news, AFL, politics and hip hop.

Shannon has served as executive producer on Saturday Magazine, the flagship show on Melbourne’s JOY 94.9 radio station.

Based in Melbourne, Shannon has worked in media in Athens, New York and Buenos Aires, including an internship at the International Media Desk for the Organising Committee for the Athens Olympic Games.  She speaks Greek and Spanish fluently and has intermediate knowledge of Portuguese, Italian and French.  Recently, she has started Arabic lessons.

Shannon has an undergraduate degree with honours in International Studies.

Along with wanting to be Beyonce or Secretary General of the United Nations, one of Shannon’s lifelong dreams is to be a newsreader on SBS World News.
