Indian methadone pilot exceeds expectations | Asia Pacific | ABC Radio Australia.

A trial has been running in India in a bid to wean addicts off drugs such as heroin through a methadone-substitution scheme.

The results of that five-centre pilot program have been released, pointing to better than expected results.

Five hundred hundred people were treated and the drop out rate was relatively low.
